You know very well that a website must run fast but what you do if you need to insert high images like 1920×1080.

We will teach you today how sevio is compressing it’s images from 20mb to 200kb in just few steps.

1st. Photoshop image resize

a. We use photoshop to change the size of our image. From it’s actual size we bring the image to the needed one.
b. In case that our image have more than 72dpi, we modify it so we can have it ready for web use.
c. After we finish those preparation we save the image for web. We usualy go with jpg and 100% quality of the image.
After we set our image on photoshop we usually get from 20mb to  2mb-800k but it’s still not enough. Imagine how this page would load if you have tons of these images.

2nd. ImageMagick compression

a. Download & Install the software from imagemagick.org
b. Open your command prompt and use the following imagemagick line of code
convert -strip -interlace Plane -gaussian-blur 0.05 -quality 85% source.jpg result.jpg

From the size of 2mb-800k the image is now between 100-250kb. And now you can easily use it on your website without high loading the page.
